What kinds of questions can I ask here?
You can ask random questions online about anything! From job interview questions and answers to funny questions – eFacts has a bit of everything for everyone. All we ask is that you search for your question first; someone may have already answered it for you. If you cannot find your question, post it and let the facts and comparisons flow!
What kinds of questions should not be posted?
eFacts.com is a question answer website where people can post random questions to ask someone. Please avoid posting deep questions or unanswerable questions. Open ended, hard to answer questions should be avoided. Inappropriate and explicit questions will be deleted and can lead to user suspension.
What are the tags?
Tags are keywords that help classify your questions. Each question requires a minimum of 3 tags. These help us keep track of the types of random questions asked at eFacts. Tags must be at least 3 characters and may not succeed 20 characters. If your tag is a multiple word keyword, include a dash between the words to link them together. You need only to have a space between tags to separate them, commas are not needed. Tags can be pretty generic or more specific, it’s up to you! For example if you are posting a question related to job interview questions and answers, your tags may be: jobs, job-interview, interview-questions, interview-answers.
Why are tags required?
Tags help group questions and answers to make it easier for users to search through our database of weird facts and funny questions. While some users have random questions to post, others are interested in browsing through our catalog of random facts – tags help make it easier to search by topic or keyword.
What should I avoid in my answers?
efacts.com is a Q&A forum – not a discussion group. The questions and answers posted here are not forums for debate. People in the eFacts community are looking for random facts, unusual facts or facts and comparisons about products, not essays. Explicit material and inappropriately gross facts will be deleted and can lead to your account being suspended. Please only post answers and random facts that relevant to the questions being asked.
What is the comments section for?
The comments sections can be used to remark on any answers already posted on a question. The comments section is not meant to be a place to ask random questions, please post any new questions separately. It can be a place to add unusual facts, in support of the answer posted or contribute weird facts in support of the question.
Who moderates this community?
Efacts.com is fueled and moderated by its users. Sharing your curiosity by posting funny questions or displaying your expertise in random facts by answering questions, are all ways you can increase your karma points. The karma system allows users to earn the ability to help edit and moderate the site. This is what help makes eFacts one of the unique question and answer websites. How does the karma system work?
The Karma system is based on user participation. For every action you complete on eFacts.com you earned a designated amount of points. You can earn points when you answer a question, you can earn points when someone likes your question or answer. These points help give other users a measure of your involvement in the eFacts.com community. The more points you earn the more you are able to participate in the moderation of the site. Here is a breakdown of how points can lead to greater responsibilities: add comments -> 0 delete comments -> 400 close own questions -> 60 reopen own questions -> 120 retag questions -> 150 edit any answer -> 400 open any closed question -> 600 delete any comment -> 400
What are Badges?
As a user of eFacts, you can either ask questions, provide answers or both. As you provide answers, you will begin to earn badges. As your questions and answers receive votes, you will begin to earn badges and move up in the eFacts ranks. The more badges you earn, the higher your badge level will be. You can earn gold, silver, or bronze badge levels based on the number of badges you earn.
