A compost bin is a great way to make use of your garbage and create a wonderful fertilizer for your garden. Almost any biodegradable material can go into a compost bin. Food scraps and yard clippings are the top two items to put in your compost bin. You can also add sawdust, cardboard, straw, paper, and dirt. Be sure to add lots of variety to your compost bin to keep the chemical levels even, and avoid adding meat, eggs or dairy products to your pile.
