According to Consumersearch.com, Pampers Swaddlers Sensitive are the most absorbent for newborns, and Pampers Baby Dry are best for older babies weighing up to 35 lbs.

Many people consider Pampers to be the best diaper on the market. It has a good, close fit, which is important both for baby's comfort, and to reduce the chance of accidental leakage. They are also considered by many to be the most absorbent on the market, further reducing chances of leakage.

Some moms swear by one brand, and some another. Some diapers work better for girls and some better for boys. For my money, Pampers diapers seem to be not only the most absorbent, but also the best designed for a close fit with is equally if not more important that absorption. Baby's diaper should be changed often, anyway, so don't worry so much about how much can fit in there as how often baby should be changed. In the morning, before and after naps and meals and before bedtime are good choices.
