Any form of exercise will decrease your risks of heart disease and will help you control your weight, but when it comes to walking v. running, there are pros and cons. Running will increase cardio function and lower blood pressure, but can also increase your chances of skin cancer and osteoarthritis. Walking may be a better option for those who are overweight or who have a heart condition to avoid the extra strain on their heart and force on their joints.
