There are several methods for removing foot odor from running shoes.

First, you can prevent the odor from building up by always wearing socks when wearing running shoes. Further, when removing the shoes, wipe them out with either a moist towelette or a damp (not wet) soapy cloth and allow them to dry before wearing again.

If the odor is already, wipe them out as above, and then sprinkle some talcum powder, baby powder, or baking soda in them and allow them to sit overnight. Repeat the application every time you remove the shoes to keep the odor from forming again.
