I want to make home made hamburger patties without using eggs to bind them together - any suggestions for alternatives?

While I have seen olive oil or Worcestershire sauce suggested as a substitute for egg to bind the meat for hamburgers, I have also seen hamburgers made with no binder at all so long as there are no bread crumbs, matzoh meal or flour used in the mixture. When you make hamburgers without binder, you need to knead the meat mixture a bit, and pack it together firmly. One suggestion is to make meatballs, then flatten them into hamburgers.
