In a suburban gardens a few pieces of trunk from a felled tree can combine with exposed or extracted tree roots to form the basis for a mini-stumpery. One can also add drift wood, old branches, or any other wood that can be artfully arranged near the exposed roots. Bark chippings can unite the feel for the area.

To further tie the roots and trunk bits together, one can plant ferns and other greenery between and around the roots. Flowering plants and ivy will also add a nice touch.
