Climate change and food security are directly proportional to each other. As the climate of the world begins to shift and temperatures rise - food production will be negatively impacted. Droughts and extreme floods both have impacts on crops grown around the world. Risings seas will also impact the amount of land available for growing essential crops that sustain the world's population. Low yields of grain will lead to a rise in food costs, which has a already been felt globally and will increase the numbers of those who suffer from hunger. The timing and length of the growing seasons are also impacted by climate change, as crops react to changes in soil temperatures, moisture conditions and extreme weather scenarios.
